Ooo we miss phuket!

We took off to Phuket over Father's day weekend for some much needed time-out. Managed to convince Jin and our friends that we should pamper ourselves and splurge on our accommodation. Thankfully, I was heard and thus, we got to stay in the lovely Twin Palms resort..it's such a romantic resort..honeymooners and couples stroll hand in hand, ..we were definitely out of place with a baby and friends but who cared, we had a great relaxing time none the less.

Sophie wanted to taste the welcome drink..

"twin palms" chocs met us in the room :)

On board the Junglee..

Junglee's the name of Abhi's boat which we were on this evening to watch the sunset. Unfortunately, it was too cloudy so could not see the setting sun but we had fun enjoying the wind in our hair, eatings lots of chips and sipping red wine. the sea was a bit too choppy for my liking - I am rallying for Abhi to buy a bigger boat :D. See video on Iz's blog.

The good life

That's the boat and condo I am rallying Abhi to get next ;)

Super sore legs.

Yes! We completed the Adidas 10km sundown run last night. The funniest thing happened where we got to the start line like 5 minutes after the start of the race at 8pm and of course, there was no one there. The organiser just told us to "Run Run" :P..so Jin said " you take care of yourself yeah, I go ahead" and left me running by myself (me asking myself at this point..where is the for better for worse??! :p)

I ran 4 km non stop with Celine Dion blasting in my ears. Thankfully the weather was cool as it rained just an hour earlier. After the 4km mark, I walked and ran intermittently - reaching the Finish line about 10 minutes after Jin (not sure of the exact time it took us to finish - will know in a couple of days). We definitely completed the run within 1 hour 20 minutes..if anyone's asking how I managed to do it, the thought that kept playing over my mind throughout was : just get it over with..the slower you take, the longer to finish. :)

After the run, Jin rewarded himself with a luncheon meat with egg sandwich..he said that was his real motivation for completing the race..lol.
My legs are feeling super sore today...i did not even have the strength to carry Sophie! No more running for me - think I will focus on yoga or pilates next.
update, 2/6/09 : Received sms that my total run time was 1 hour 14 minutes - 4 minutes after Soon Jin! hehe, not bad for someone who really did not train :P..and get this, we came out no 45 in the top 50 groups ranking in the group challenge (consist of 4 runners, and having their total time added up - I am still wondering how many groups were there in total!). No idea who our other 2 group members were but hope they are not like super mad with us for not running faster :p

Busy month of May

Enjoying a free concert at Botanical Gardens

We made a quick trip back to KL as I got Vesak day off as a public holiday. Celebrated CW's bday with some yummy banofee pie.

Took bean to her first Sentosa trip. She seemed to enjoy watching the waves.

Learning to whistle a happy tune :)
Sophie also attended her 1st bday party. It was neighbour Valentine's bday and she got to eat lots of baby biscuits :)

Over the last weekend, we arranged for a picnic gathering at BG since there was a concert going on. Anne and VB whom we have not seen since they visited sophie at the hospital when she first arrived, met us with their 2 super skinny dogs. vegetarian diet it seems :p

Good doggy..let me hug you..

Being entertained by uncle Jimmy while ko ko Drexel looks on

We took her to the Jacob Ballas children's garden yesterday and soph got to touch and eat sand :p. she enjoyed the touch part but cough cough over the eat part.

All smiles for another outing...

Ok, now where's the food?

oh, i get it..I am supposed to eat the spade..

NOt too happy about eating spade and sand...

We spent the afternoon over at Chejet's place making key lime pie. Our 1st attempt went quite well :) I think I can start taking orders since I got the thumbs up by Michiko..haha.

This evening , Poppy came over to celebrate the 10 months and also have a swim. Aren't the 4 bunnies cute? :)

Sweet bean and daddy :)

We ended the night stuffing ourselves at Donna Carmela's. So stuffed that we could not even touch dessert! Soph konked out right after her night feed..she must have been tired out by all the work she had to do this morning :)

Jin and lizards...

My dear hubby is like super scared of lizards..wait,,scared is a softy word - terrified is more like it..he gets all pale whenever he sees one even if it's the tiniest house lizard. Anyway, today he was in the toilet doing the BIG one and I was running around trying to get bean into bed and making her milk when I saw a small lizard in the hall.

Naturally, knowing how Jin hates lizards, I made it a BIG point to let him know that there was one in the hall running around.
Cin at hall : JIn - got lizard in hall!
Jin in toilet : KILL it please
Cin : but but, it's small and harmless
Jin : Can you PLEASE kill it
Cin walks into the kitchen with a huff, takes out the spray from under the sink and sprays at baby lizard. Lizard runs out of kitchen. Cin follows - and begins to wonder just when did insecticide start smelling so good..looks at can in hand : which says - Dettol disinfectant spray..yikes wrong spray!
Runs back into kitchen, took right spray and sprayed at baby lizard again. At this point , Michiko comes out to see what the whole commotion is about.
So I start telling her : Michiko - lizard lizard. dont let it go into sophie's room!

And guess what? Lizard promptly goes into soph's room %^%*^...so i start screaming..and sophie starts crying cos of mummy's crazee screaming.(poor baby!) and all this while, jin in toilet shouting : where is it? what's happening? DON'T let lizard into toilet PLEASE.

Michiko says : Don't scared maam - lizard no bite.

She chases lizard out of sophie's room. Guess where lizard went next?

The Toilet la! LOL.

Jin in toilet - super MAD. Very angry.
Me in soph's room - rolling on floor in silent laughter
Michiko in soph's room - super calm. Says : Maam, lizard no bite. No scared. It's OK. bu yao Pa.

LOL

Jin in toilet : Cin - the lizard walked over my pants (angry tone)
Cin trying to control laughter : not my fault, michiko chased lizard in there. you come out la.
Jin walks out without his pants into the other toilet. Michiko goes in and takes toilet brush and hits lizard. Must have been a pretty hard hit cos toilet brush broke.

What a night!

A month of working from home..

..and counting on. So our Myanmese helper has been with us a month - which means, I have also started working from home for about a month now. What's working at home like?
1) Long hours! It's like one never stops working..I sit in front of the PC over lunch, tea and dinner. I am on emails at night while Jin watches Idol and Lost. When I am not working, it's tending to little bean - playing with her, cleaning her up, feeding her..yes, I can't help but to be a little hands on around my darling baby..but that also means - no ME time! I am tired..grrr

2) Lonely - no adult conversations :p thank goodness for msn where I get to stay in touch with some colleagues!

3) Hot - it's freaking hot working from home - trying to save planet earth by living via wind but geez, it's HOT.

4) Aching - could it be my posture but my shoulders do hurt a lot after a long day..hmmm

5) Rewarding - especially when little bean smiles ever so sweet to see my face upon waking up from her mid-morning and afternoon naps. Also, getting to hug her and smell her whenever I need a de-stress moment and there's no kit kat in the house!

These are the "making me smile" moments - little bean cuddling her bunny to sleep

No more yakking with colleagues over lunch. Replaced by watching bean play with her food with half attempts of putting food into her mouth :)
