A mat hatting children's day

A happy Alice and Mad Hatter :)

Bean's school celebrated Children's Day to the theme of Alice in Wonderland. She dressed up as a "Alice", Popo was the Mad Hatter and Mummy became Tweedledum-wannabe.

The school went all out with the decos and activities. Although we got rained in, we still managed to enjoy ourselves a plenty.

A setting fit for a grand tea party!

Bean stuffed herself with sweet corn, jelly, sandwiches, cocktail sausages X 6 and cakes!

There was a dressing up/photo shoot corner

and a make your own mat hatter hat fun activity

bean got to throw some hula hoops on the flamingoes...

and there were face painting done by the talented teachers

a week later, the kids were asked to come back to perform their mini song skit which they did not get to do due to the heavy downpour on the actual event day

Morning out in MacRitchie.. Does this count? :)

Bean at the start of our "walk"

So we decided to be a bit healthy and thought a morning walk at MacRitchie might be just the thing. Barely 5 minutes of walking and the heat got to us (mind you it was like 930am only) and we spent the rest of our time on this bench - recharging before taking a slow 5 minutes walk back to our air conditioned car :D

All sweaty already..bean looks like me ya?

Mummy decided that some arm lifting exercises counts as part of being healthy

Matching blue with Mummy ..heehee

Just a happy bean and I

Happy Bday to Jin..always 30,:)

We celebrated Jin's "constantly @ 30" bday with a karoake session and 2 cakes. why 2? cos the bday boy wanted a cheese cake but the preggy lady (read : greedy me!) wanted chocolate so I went ahead and ordered 2 cakes :)

The karoake crowd with 2 kiddos! Bean had a blast cos she got to sing twinkle twinkle, abc and happy bday while Jin sang all the Abba hits.

We ended the day with just dinner for 2 at Xi Yan. yummy meal for my darling hubby :)

Bean @ 25 months

Here's what bean was up to during the busy months of July & August (which by the way, went by in a flash as we were crazy busy with the move into our new & permanent home! - note to Jin, no more moving unless it's to another country!)

we celebrated aunty lin's bday at JPot steamboat

we were actually in town for our 1st spore national day after 8 years living in spore!

self entertaining while mummy was busy packing up

she insisted that she was spiderman by doning on jin's shirt

attended Ethan's terrific 2s partee..love her tip toeing here

wonder what bean did to Gordon to get that glare :p

helping to clean up her new room before move in date

Babymooning in Bali with Bean tagging along

We had a great time in Bali over the Raya break. We stayed at the beautiful Ayana Resort at Jimbaran. The hotel staff must like bean a lot cos they upgraded us to a villa from day 2 onwards which came with our own swimming/wading pool, butler service, outdoor and indoor shower, gazebo...luxury!

View of a small section of the resort - so pretty!

Bean enjoyed having her parent's full attention on her and only her - I enjoyed the time off work and just getting to relax by the beach and eating yummy meals.

Enjoying her tomato sauce - dip dip dip

Plucking huge hibiscus flowers

Glorious spread at Bumbu Bali restaurant

THis shot of bean hiding behind jin is too cute!

loving the waves

Sharing her tomato sauce with daddy

and finally, being 2 means having your own seat on the airplane

Our little Mei Mei

This was how I told the world of baby no 2, couple of months back :

Baby no 2 update - just completed detailed scan today at 20 weeks (that's 4.5 months people! and yes I am pregnant NOT FAT!) - results are all good and it's a little mei mei for sophie..woohoo! jin's estactic at the $$ we will be saving from clothes and toys ;)

Today, at 33 weeks, the little one is moving a LOT (so much more than Bean). At the last scan at Week 31, she was 1.7kgs - doc says all is good.

Pregnancy wise, this has been great. will not say more just in case I jinx it but have to admit that I have been really really blessed!

Her room and things are about 60% there. we still need to put in the wall paper and wash all the toys and clothes. but i have got all the essentials - diapers, bottles, diaper rash creams (5 different brands), pacifier (is 1 enuff?), a bunny soft toy..hmm, i think i need to stock up on some milk powder and wet wipes!

bean knows baby is in mummy's tummy. some days she sayangs my tummy..other days she yells and says :mei mei wake up, mei mei come out! LOL

until the next mei mei update, here's a preggy me at 7 mths visiting Eastern Europe.

Drama Minggu Ini..

What a crazee week it has been..michiko decided to leave without so much as a 24 hour notice leaving us pretty much stranded with house move and no one to watch sophie. thankfully, boss allowed me to take all afternoons off on urgent leave for 2 whole weeks till in laws come to the rescue and giving us time to find a new helper.

I have to say, it's been a while since i get to be bean's sole caregiver. i pick her up from school (which she lurves! whole day she sings songs from school - songs i have never heard of), we come back and usually have a small snack (fishballs from old chang kee) and then it's a quick clean up and off to her afternoon nap.

once she wakes, it's play play play all the way. sometimes we read books, have a colouring session or like today, since we were stuck in one room as the decking guys were making a mess out at the living room, she had a looong bubble bath.

some highlights of the week :

pain pain na na

on friday, we were so caught up with the move that we kinda forgot it was dinner time till bean went, "pain pain" and pointed at her tummy. I looked at jin and said, "oh no, i think she has gastric", we dropped everything and walked out for food (yes, it's nice to be able to walk 3 minutes and reach a local hdb coffeeshop)

even though she was hungry, she kept whinning "pain pain, pain pain" and after a while, "pain pain na na". "Na na?" - no idea what that meant! then i thought a bit and said to bean "i think you need to poo poo cos this morning you did not poo". so we headed back and sat her on the potty and she says "sophie no poo poo, pee pee only" and I said "ok" and wiped her pee off and the second i removed my hand, PLOP PLOP, her poo came out and nearly landed on me hand!

after she pooed, she said "sophie no more pain pain" and laughed. poor child.

locked in

even though i am on leave every afternoon, my big boss does not know and so we were having a concall while bean was taking her nap. halfway through the call, i heard her knocking on her door which meant she woke up. since i was on the call, i decided to keep her waiting.,..and the minute the call ended, i rushed to her door, calling her name.

turned the door knob and whoa, door was locked. silly bean played with lock from inside and locked herself in!! and jin took all the keys to office (no idea why).

so poor child starts wailing from inside "i want mummyyy, i want mummyyy" and i call jin and he was thankfully on his way somewhere and could detour to pass us the key. meanwhile, i pacified her by sneaking cookies under the door :P

at one point, i told her to ask bunny to help her open the door and she said OK. next thing i heard was her telling bunny in a serious tone "bunny open door..bunny, do properly..why cannot?" lol.

what a week indeed! but tired as I may be, i am loving every minute with bean..she is soo cheeky and funny.,and what energy! i refer to her as my little energy ball. :)
